AusRegistry International leading the new TLD charge at two US domain name conferencesJanuary 31st 2011, Orange County, California, USA
AusRegistry International will be sharing its expertise as a global leader in Domain Name Registry Services to raise awareness of new Top-Level Domains (TLD) at two leading domain name industry conferences to be held in the US in February.
Through its US office based in Orange County, California, AusRegistry International will be represented at the conferences by Chief Executive Office Adrian Kinderis and Chief Strategy Officer Krista Papac. Also joining them will be George Pongas, AusRegistry International's .au Country Code TLD Services Manager.
DOMAINfest Global, an event for domain name industry and Internet marketing professionals focused on domain name monetisation, will be held in Santa Monica, California, from 1 to 3 February. The .nxt conference, the first ever conference to specifically address the introduction of new TLDs, will be held in San Francisco, California, from 8 to 10 February.
A major discussion point at both conferences will be the revolutionary transformation of the Internet via the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers' (ICANN) new TLD program. Expected to be released in mid 2011, the program will allow for new Internet extensions similar to .com, .biz and .info to be applied for and introduced to the generic top level space. To date interest has been shown in possible extensions including brands (.nike), generic words (.love) and geographic locations (.paris).
AusRegistry International's CEO Adrian Kinderis will take part in panel discussions at both conferences to share his expertise on new TLDs. Mr Kinderis said AusRegistry International is using the newly established AusRegistry International regional office to aggressively pursue new TLD opportunities in the North American market.
"ICANN's new Top-Level Domain program is the most compelling opportunity for innovation that the Internet has seen since its creation. The result of this revolutionary shift will fundamentally change the way in which end users navigate the Internet and consume online content. It is expected that hundreds of new TLDs will be delegated as a result of the program, drastically improving choice and providing unprecedented domain name availability for Internet consumers, business and government worldwide.
"AusRegistry International is 100 percent committed to the North American market. We will be joining industry leaders at these high profile events as we endeavour to help prospective new TLD applicants clearly understand the true opportunity presented by this revolutionary program. I hope that our involvement and input can help them stay well ahead of the pack."
