AusRegistry International introduces new Top-Level Domain education portal: BeyondDotCom.info

July 7th 2011, Melbourne, Australia

AusRegistry International today officially launched a new online information portal for the new Top-Level Domain program - www.BeyondDotCom.info - with the aim of educating potential applicants and Internet users around the world about the important changes that will take place to the Internet over the next two years.

The Internet is about to be opened up so that web addresses will go beyond.com to .anything in what is being described as the biggest change to the Internet in its history.

It will allow entrepreneurs, brands and governments to own their own trusted, authentic slice of Internet real estate.

The role of the new BeyondDotCom.info portal is to educate those new to the program about the opportunities available whilst providing updates on the latest news and developments.

"BeyondDotCom.info is a one-stop-shop for anyone seeking information about the new Top-Level Domain program," said Adrian Kinderis, CEO of AusRegistry International." There is an enormous amount of clutter out there and the complexities of the program can be overwhelming for someone who is new to the process. Through BeyondDotCom.info, we are hoping to demystify the whole program by creating an easy to understand new Top-Level Domain information portal that provides the basic information every potential applicant needs to know before further considering the opportunity presented."

Mr Kinderis said there are three key opportunities associated with new Top-Level Domains: .brand, .generic, .places - think .nike, .music and .paris. He said the BeyondDotCom.info microsite has been structured to reflect this.

"Visitors will be able to navigate the site through the three key opportunities - brands, generics and places. We also have a category dedicated to scripts where potential applicants can learn about securing their new Top-Level Domain in any non-Latin script from around the world. On top of these categories, we also have a 'How to apply' and a 'Frequently Asked Questions' section," Mr Kinderis said.

Another important feature of the website will be the application window countdown timer.

"Visitors will be able to keep track of the exact number of days, hours, minutes and seconds until the application window opens. This is actually my favourite feature of the website because it visually displays the new sense of urgency as we edge closer to the opening of applications on 12th January 2012," Mr Kinderis said.

"Currently, the clock shows there is less than 188 days until the application window opens on 12th January 2012. That's not a lot of time for applicants to formulate and execute their new Top-Level Domain strategy."

Mr Kinderis was also proud to share video clips on BeyondDotCom.info from the many appearances AusRegistry International has made in the media in the past couple of months. Video footage is available from news reports by Bloomberg Television, Sky News, Channel NewsAsia and Network Ten. There are also several key note presentations available for viewing.

Although today is the official launch of the website, BeyondDotCom.info has been live in beta form since February 2011.

The BeyondDotCom.info new Top-Level Domain information portal will be updated regularly between now and the 12th January 2012 application opening window.
