AusRegistry International today announced its sponsorship of the upcoming Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Singapore meeting from 19-24 June, as part of its commitment to drive innovation and foster the expansion and function of the Internet.

The major focus of the meeting will be on the upcoming implementation of ICANN's long awaited new Top-Level Domain (TLD) program. New Top-Level Domains will herald the biggest change to the Internet in its history and will open up the current domain name marketplace whereby successful applicants could own their own TLD like .com.

As noted in ICANN's press release in March, the ICANN Board has announced it intends to make a decision on the Applicant Guidebook, which outlines the rules of applying for a new TLD, on June 20 at its Singapore meeting. The Board also made this commitment in a timeline it produced for approving the Applicant Guidebook and launching the new Top-Level Domain program.

As such, AusRegistry International will be sending its largest ever team of Top-Level Domain consultants to ICANN's Singapore meeting in anticipation of the expected influx of new TLD applicants who will be looking for expert guidance to help them navigate the new Top-Level Domain process.

Adrian Kinderis, CEO of AusRegistry International, said ICANN's 41st conference in Singapore will be remembered as the launch location for the new Top-Level Domain program.

"This is likely to be the most important ICANN meeting in terms of the new Top-Level Domain program. We are currently working with some of the most well known brands, governments and entrepreneurs from around the world to help them implement their new TLD strategies. They, like us, are very excited about the anticipated sign off of the Applicant Guidebook in Singapore," Mr Kinderis said.

"AusRegistry International offers its full support to ICANN, the new TLD program and all potential applicants of the program. We encourage all new TLD applicants to come and meet the team from AusRegistry International for an insight into how our extensive experience as a provider of Domain Name Registry Services can be of assistance both pre and post application."
